Under Twos have a separate area to allow the little ones safety and freedom to learn at their own pace without the interruption of older children. They visit the downstairs playground and classroom regularly so that they are familiar with all areas of the centre.
All children get together for special occasions to allow some integration. Siblings are also given time together quite regularly.
There is a staff member for every four children of this age. Developmental experiences provided by the staff include: Book sharing: Songs and dancing; Free play with educational toys and natural materials, Messy Play: Art; Outside play including water and sand; Quiet times.
Children sleep in special sleep rooms according to their needs and after discussion with you. You are welcome to supply a favourite cuddly or pillow to help your child settle down to rest.
As children approach two they are gradually given more time with the older ones to facilitate a smooth transition.
